Welcome to Penuel International School

 This handbook serves as your guide to understanding our school expectations, policies, and the many opportunities available to students. We are excited to work in partnership with parents and guardians to ensure every child thrives.

Guidelines for All Pupils

This document provides important information for new pupils of Penuel International School.

History

Penuel International School was established in September 2012 as a limited liability company. The school is managed by a team of professionals from diverse academic backgrounds including doctors, lawyers, psychologists, educationists, and university lecturers.

Penuel operates three main departments:

  • Pre-School

  • Primary Education

  • Junior High School

Guiding Philosophy

Penuel International School follows a student-centered philosophy. We are committed to nurturing and challenging pupils to grow socially, physically, morally, and intellectually. We respond to students’ needs without compromising academic standards.

Admission Procedure

  • All new pupils must sit for and pass an entrance examination.

  • A minimum score of 70% in English and Mathematics is required.

  • After passing the exam, parents must purchase and complete the admission form.

School Fees

  • Newly admitted pupils are required to pay full fees before or at the beginning of the term.

  • Continuing pupils must pay 70% of the fees on the first day of the term, and the remaining 30% after mid-term.

  • From Week 4 onwards, pupils who have not settled fees will not be allowed to attend classes.

Uniform Guidelines

All pupils must wear the prescribed school uniform.

Uniform Schedule:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays – Standard school uniform

  • Wednesdays – White top with a bow tie

  • Fridays – African print or school-designed Lacoste

Footwear

All pupils are required to wear black flat-heeled full shoes with white socks.

Hair Policy

  • Boys must keep their hair neatly trimmed.

  • Girls may braid their hair in cornrows without attachments.

Feeding

  • Feeding is compulsory for all pupils, unless a medical exemption is provided.

  • A certified medical report from a recognized hospital or clinic is required for exemptions.

Transport Services

  • The school provides transport services to pupils at an additional cost.

  • Payments can be made daily, weekly, monthly, or termly.

Bookshop

  • The school operates an on-site bookshop where pupils can purchase all prescribed textbooks and stationery.

  • Note: The bookshop is managed by two parents from the school community.

Examination & Assessment

  • Pupils are assessed through monthly tests and end-of-term exams.

    • Monthly tests: 40% of total term grade

    • End-of-term exams: 60% of total term grade

  • Any pupil caught engaging in examination malpractice will have their paper(s) cancelled.

Reports

  • Terminal report cards are issued on the last day of the term.

  • Reports are also sent to parents via SMS.

  • Parents can also view results on the school website.

Discipline

  • To ensure total discipline, the Academic Board has established a symbol-based correction system:

    • Pupils receive a blue symbol for unacceptable behavior and must wear it around the neck from morning to closing.

    • The blue symbol is re-issued each morning by the teacher and worn for ten consecutive days, after which it is withdrawn.

    • Repeated offenses result in a yellow symbol, indicating more serious behavioral concerns.
